03 / Materials

The Library.

A curated selection of the four surfaces we work with daily. Each carries its own geology, its own care profile, and its own voice within a space.

Quartz surface

01 — Engineered

Quartz

Engineered from 93% natural quartz crystals bound with resin — producing a non-porous, impossibly consistent surface. The architect's choice for high-use kitchens.

  • Non-porous surface
  • Zero sealing required
  • Stain & bacteria resistant
  • Consistent color across slabs

Granite surface

02 — Igneous

Granite

Formed deep in the earth over thousands of years. Each slab carries an unrepeatable crystalline signature — the definition of natural permanence.

  • Heat & scratch resistant
  • One-of-one veining
  • Ideal for outdoor South Florida kitchens
  • Exceptional density

Marble surface

03 — Metamorphic

Marble

The canonical luxury surface. Dramatic veining forms through tectonic pressure — a material that patinas with use into a surface unlike any other in the home.

  • Unparalleled visual depth
  • Natural cooling for baking
  • Develops a lived-in patina
  • Carrara, Calacatta & Statuario available

How to Choose

Maintenance,
simplified.

The right stone depends on how you live. Here's a straightforward look at what each surface needs to stay beautiful — so you can choose with confidence.

Quartz

Engineered

The lowest-maintenance option. Non-porous and never needs sealing — ideal for busy households.

Soap & water

Daily Care

Wipe with mild dish soap and a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, bleach, and acidic cleaners. No sealing or special products needed.

Avoid

Direct heat from pots and pans — the resin can discolor. Don't use oven cleaners or paint removers.

Granite

Natural

Durable and heat-resistant, but requires annual sealing to stay stain-proof. A practical natural stone.

Stone cleaner

Daily Care

Seal once a year to maintain stain resistance. Clean with warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap. Wipe spills promptly.

Avoid

Vinegar, lemon, bleach, and other acids — they dull the surface over time. Don't let spills sit.

Marble

Natural

The most beautiful and the most demanding. Softer and porous — it etches and stains without careful upkeep.

pH-neutral only

Daily Care

Seal annually. Wipe spills immediately — especially wine, citrus, and coffee. Use only pH-neutral cleaners. Embraces a lived-in patina over time.

Avoid

All acidic substances (lemon, vinegar, tomato) cause etching. No abrasive pads. Don't use generic household cleaners.

* When properly sealed — unsealed granite is porous and can stain.
